This study addresses an exceptional poetic phenomenon in the modern Iraqi poetry scene, seeking to establish a new critical concept — the poetics of foresight — and apply it to the poetic experience of Raad Abdul Qadir as a unique model that combines the anticipatory vision of catastrophe, human loss, and awareness of collective death. The study rests on a central hypothesis that foresight in this poetic experience is not supernatural prediction, but rather a deep poetic sensitivity stemming from the poet's comprehensive awareness of his human and historical surroundings, and that human loss in its multiple dimensions is employed as central poetic material rather than a secondary emotional background. The study adopted the analytical literary method, utilizing structural criticism tools in analyzing imagery, symbolism, and temporal structure, while not overlooking the human and historical context that produced these texts. It was distributed across three chapters addressing the methodological framework, the theoretical framework based on the concepts of literary foresight and poetics of loss, and the applied textual analysis of selected texts from the complete poetic collection.
