Critical awareness, through modern approaches, has contributed to exploring the relationship between thresholds and surrounding or adjacent texts within the text. The concept of threshold has subsequently become an essential textual component with its own formal characteristics, as well as semantic functions that qualify it to engage in questioning and dialogue with equally complex semantic structures, such as textual structure and horizon of expectation.
The research chose a theoretical approach to shed light on the term "paratext." The research then examined the main title of the poetry collection (Relying on My Calm), followed by the subtitles within that collection. Furthermore, intertextuality within the title was studied, whether internal or external. The research concluded by illuminating the significance of the texts surrounding the central text in this poetry collection by the poet Faisal Al-Qaseri.
