This study investigated the pivotal role of online journalism in shaping public opinion during political crises, focusing on Tikrit, Iraq. Utilizing a descriptive-analytical approach, the research examined 200 news articles and surveyed 100 participants. The findings reveal that digital platforms rarely report neutrally, instead prioritizing a "conflict and confrontation framework" at 42%, followed by a "responsibility framework" at 28%, to amplify emotional engagement and hostility. Furthermore, the field study highlighted that 54% of respondents constantly consume breaking news, which diminishes critical thinking and fosters impulsive emotional stances. Additionally, 49% of participants fell into algorithmic "echo chambers," consuming only content aligned with their preexisting views and thus deepening political polarization. Most notably, 81% of the public confirmed they were influenced by the interactive environment of user comments and opinions accompanying the news. Ultimately, online journalism constructs a framed virtual reality that powerfully directs collective behavior and public attitudes during crises
