The contemporary world is witnessing an unprecedented evolution in artificial intelligence (AI) and its diverse applications, which have extended to the field of historical studies and the analysis of historical sources. This paper explores the potential of AI technologies in reading and analyzing historical texts, particularly primary sources and ancient manuscripts. It highlights the capabilities of machine learning and natural language processing in extracting meanings, identifying historical patterns, and revealing deep contextual links. The study also addresses the main challenges of this integration, such as reliability, interpretation, and the cultural limitations of AI understanding. Ultimately, the paper offers a balanced critical perspective on the effectiveness of AI in supporting historical research, while preserving the unique value of human academic work.
