The Role of Internet Applications in Providing Information Services to Middle School Students

Abstract

After the great development of social networking networks and their use by large segments of society, especially by young people, and one of the advantages of using these networks is their use in education, this study addressed (the role of Internet applications in providing information services to middle school students). The study was conducted on Ain Zala middle school students. For girls and Al-Nahrain Secondary School for Boys, affiliated with the Al-Shirqat Education Department, using the questionnaire tool to survey information on the entire research population, which numbered (276) male and female students. The most important results of the study were :
1. The percentage of students who use the Internet to obtain information related to their studies from the research community (93.7%) is compared to a percentage (6.35) who do not use it, which is a small percentage compared to those who use it.
2. YouTube leads the rest of the networks in use by middle school students, with a rate of (97.66%).
3. The option (participation in scientific groups) ranked first among the rest of the options that show the nature of students’ use of the Internet, with a percentage of (93.85). The percentage of students who participate in scientific groups was (93.77%).
