Abstract

The research aimed to determine the way television channels used human images of the Iraqi child, and to interpret the signs and connotations of the images used, as well as to identify the types of
media frames highlighted by the television program (From Reality) in dealing with the issue of the suffering of the Iraqi child, and to identify the function of the frames used in addressing the suffering of the Iraqi child. shown in the programme.
The research concluded that the graphic humanitarian frameworks on which the program relied were represented by the suffering of the child, the torture of the child, the family abandoning their children and leaving them on the street, the family not accepting children with special needs, the family profiting from selling their children, forced marriage of girls, and bullying. The results of the
research revealed that the program varied in its presentation of the humanitarian framework and covered the largest possible number of humanitarian issues for the Iraqi child. The program focused in its video media coverage on negative media frameworks such as sadness, crying, loss, and brokenness. The framework of responsibility in the images under study came from the framework of individual responsibility, where the harm and damage that was caused to the child was on the one hand. The parents, and the human image of the Iraqi child in the program (From Reality) is linked to the societal context and expresses it clearly.
